Nothing like a good South Country meeting

A great meeting and great hosts.
Charlie managed the roaring fire while we lightly dined on decadent soup and endive.
This is the way to have a meeting of the minds!
Creativity (checking WPA art & hobo creations online) and practicality (raising the $$ to support the art)make this the fun committe to be on.
If you are looking for a way to contribute to Patchogue Arts Council this is a great way to go.

(Ok, feel free to be jealous if you missed it!)

The Party's started!

We had a great 1st PAC Summer Party fund raising meeting, attended by Carol and Charlie, Nancy, Mike and Bernadette.
We propose to institutionalize the summer party date, for this year and all to follow, as the Sunday after 4th of July w/e, this year it's July 12.

In light of the economy, we will change the ticket price structure: single tickets will be $75, as last year, but a twofer of $100 will also be offered.

We kicked around some theme ideas, and decided, also in light of the economy, to honor the WPA painters. We'll continue the '30's theme throughout the party, and use appropriate art for the invites, promo material, etc..
Bernadette came up with a great title: What a Party for the Arts! Food will be classic American fare as served in the '30's, both donations and potluck (no stone soup, please).

We're asking everyone to keep an eye out for tramp art pieces, campaign buttons and such for raffles and contests. Speaking of which, we need everyone's help in getting donations for the party, and, most especially, inviting guests.

We also discussed the possibility of another Oktoberfest and decided it would be a good idea. The coffers will be depleted by the Biennial, so a quick FR to keep the pump primed will be needed. The date will be October 11, the Sunday of Columbus Day w/e
